It was beautiful, keep it beautiful
My name is Mahammed Hafeez Hussain. I am an international student, pursuing my master’s in international business management. My motivation to stand for this position is an urgent need to increase greenery in our university campus since it is limited.
Our campus has a vast area and yet has limited bins along with ash trays. I also believe climate is a very important aspect in our daily lives. Hence, the environment has to be taken care of. It is our responsibility to maintain our environment and pass it to our next generations as beautiful as it is. Your one vote would be first step for a better and beauty full environment. If I were to be voted as environment and ethics officer, I would work hard to ensure:
- The university where you can find yourself in fresh air with maximum greenery.
- A beautiful and color full campus with fragrance of flowers.
- Every concern, suggestions and ideas will be heard, and prompt actions will be taken accordingly.
- Will work towards making our campus to be a place to sit and study in peaceful environment.
I promise myself and my team will:
Encouraging more environmental options for university:
- Ensuring more bike racks with higher security to prevent them from getting stolen. In addition, this will encourage people to use bikes.
- Ensuring a fruit stall for students and staff which would contain juices and smoothies.
Promising effective communication between students and union:
- Suggestion box where every student can drop his/her ideas, suggestions and any issues.
- Ensuring weekly meeting where notes from suggestion box would be reviewed.
Ensuring ethical and environmental responsibility for the union:
- Promising reusability, ethicality & recyclability by working with researching potential suppliers.
- Promising to make more ethical and more sustainable choices for the union.
- To make sure involvement of private companies and government to increase awareness.
Support to environmental societies:
- Promising to support any kind of environmental society.
- Promising to spread awareness among students by conducting eco events.
