Covid-19 Response
London remains in Tier 4 under the Government’s Covid measures. This brings with it stronger guidelines and laws to help protect people and slow the spread of Covid.
Studying at South Bank
There are no major changes to South Bank’s teaching plans, as a staggered return had already been planned.. As you know, many of the Semester 1 assessment deadlines have been pushed back, and the IT issues we have experienced, may lead to changes in submission method – these changes will be course specific, so keep a close look out for emails from your course tutors.
Only a few courses have on-campus teaching planned between now and 25th January, where access to specialist facilities are required, so most of you will be working off-campus on revision or assessments. In the light of government announcements, we have decided that we’ll delay face-to-face teaching in Semester 2 until week 2 (the week starting 1st February), other than use of specialist facilities, unless the government issues other directives. We will keep you updated.
We are hoping to open the study areas in the library from Wednesday 6th January, for those who need this in order to study. Research that requires access to on-campus facilities (e.g. in the labs or the library) can also be carried out – please discuss this with your supervisor.
Covid testing
We want to keep LSBU as Covid secure as we can, and we are offering Covid tests to all students before they come back on to Campus from Monday 4 January 2021 to Friday 12 February.
For students moving back into accommodation in London (either rented accommodation or Halls), please check the government travel guidance. We will be sending specific information to those living in Halls, to ensure that you are as safe as possible.
For everyone coming onto campus for studying, the advice is that you should have a Covid test; Remember you need to take 2 tests ideally 3 days apart. Please show you love LSBU by booking your test and helping to keep your friends, family and our community safe. We have further information on our website.
